Nearly 40 Years of Following the Scent of a Story…
Nearly 40 years ago, I started a small business called Smell-Goods
I traveled to bike weeks, festivals, and local businesses, creating and selling handcrafted scented accessories for saddlebags, campfires, motorcycles, vehicles, wall ornaments, and everyday life.
And yes… even those stenched saddlebags full of dirty laundry! 😂
What began as a simple idea became something much bigger.
I’ve always believed that everyone has a scent that speaks to them differently—a scent connected to memory, comfort, freedom, peace, adventure, or identity.
Sometimes a scent takes you somewhere before you even realize you’re going there.
And when we go through the battles of life—or even the really good times—we sometimes discover that what we gained or lost wasn’t simply
time.
It was distance from the parts of ourselves that once felt most alive.
Occasionally, we just can’t seem to connect those dots.
Déjà vu? Maybe.
But rest assured…
There is a connection.
And there is no denying it.
That is where Smell-Goods came to life.
Capturing yesterday, today, and whatever tomorrow awakens in us.
